Strand Palace could not be more convenient to all the major attractions and theatres. The rooms are very basic and a little small. Our room had no bath but a double shower. We needed to use the electric fan all night as there was no air-conditioning in the room. Although it was a club room there was no iron or trouser press and very limited wardrobe space. Our deal did not include breakfast which was an extra £15 per person, however there are several cafes a few doors away and a Tescos across the road which gave better value! We were woken by a lot of street noise every day at about 7:00am.
I would recomend the hotel to anybody it was my best stay in London ever.My granddaughter came on a visit from Norway and we both loved our 3 day stay in the Strand Palace, the staff are very nice ,the rooms very clean ,the food exelent and best of all, it was so close to every thing.. I would like to thank one of your staff at Hotel Direct ``Holly ``for helping me when I booket the hotel ,she was a great help, Thank you , Mrs. Renate Parker
room was very hot with no air conditioning and poor ventilation - especially with shutters closed. Windows only opened 10 cm at bottom.Better instructions could be provided about how to connect to the hotels wifi network.Aside from this, my stay was excellent.
very small room but clean, would have thought breakfast should have been included.
The hotel was in a great location for the theartre and covent garden, would stay again!
I enjoyed my recent stay in a lovely room, but I found the room far too warm and as a result did not sleep well. My colleague also staying at the hotel reported the same problem. I was lucky enough to have a fan in my room, which helped. I found the evening doorman to be very helpful and courteous, and breakfast in the smaller dining room was lovely (the larger one was full but this was not an issue).
The hotel was very clean, staff were very welcoming, room very small but for a weekend break would of been totally manageable if they had air con( thank god it was not the height of summer) . Hotel in the right place for everything could not get better area. The only thing that would stop me from booking this hotel again would be the heat in the rooms
Brilliant location within walking distance of Convent garden. Only negative was there was no air con in the room which made it a bit uncomfortable at night, but overall was reasonable enough.
Excellent central location. Double standard room however was only the size of a single in other hotels we have stayed in outside London. No air conditioning in the room together with the compact size made the night time very uncomfortable. Very clean rooms though with tea/coffee making facilities.
Lovely hotel, so central & extremely friendly staff who were so helpful too.
Good room. some confusion over newspapers and booking breakfast but all sorted out amicably
The Strand Palace Hotel is in an excellent location, ideally situated for all tourist area`s. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable and although the hotel is not air conditioned, the rooms are provided with a fan in the summer which certainly makes everywhere cooler. The hotel staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help - we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to see the sights of London.
I loved The Strand Palace Hotel!! It is right in the heart of everything you want to see in London, literally walking distance to everything! The hotel oozes luxury at an affordable price. The single room that I stayed in had plenty of room and was very comfortable. The reception staff were more than helpful. I arrived early, around 11am and they had a room available straight away which was fantastic. The next time I am in London, I will definitely be staying at The Strand Palace again!
I found this hotel very comfortable and convenient for the price. It was great to have a fan in the room on a hot summer`s day and I appreciated the bottle of water awaiting me and the tea-making things. For some reason the check-in seemed to take rather a long time but everything else was excellent. I will certainly consider using this hotel again when I am going to productions at Covent Garden.
bedroom and bathroom rather basic -mdf fittings, plastic chairs, lumpy polyester pillows, TV dangling from the wall at just the perfect angle to strike you on the head, and a sticky shower curtain rather than a screen in the bathroom. And why did the already inadequate window have to be largely blocked off, so that it was necessary to have the lights on all the time?
We had to swipe our credit card to use the internet. It said it cost 25p per minute and we were on for less than 5 minutes. Our card bill has come out at 37 euros. How do we sort his out.We have used you on numerous occasions and we have always been happy up until now.We hope you can sort this out for us.Thank you
We found the hotel excellent in every way, I really don`t think we could find any fault at all, very central too. We are definately going back!
As I have a free bus pass and use buses now, rather than the tube, its an ideal location as so many buses pass by for all the major tourist attractions. Excellent restaurant facilities within 5 mins. walk from the hotel. Covent Garden market has plenty of live free entertainment to keep one occupied.
We stayed in the Strand Palace Hotel from Friday 28 May to Sunday 30 May 2010. We have been to London several times and can honestly say that this was the nicest hotel we stayed in. Rooms modern and spotless, though not quite as big as some we have stayed in on previous visits, but a nicer atmospher in this hotel. Any staff we dealt with were very friendly. Have already recommended this hotel to friends since we got back and would definitely stay here the next time we go to London.
single rooms though small served their purpose
last time I stayed there a few years ago the hotel seemed `tired`. Since then it has been modified and I like the new look.
The refurb at SPH has turned it from a somewhat down at heel hotel into one I was delighted to sat in and will recomend to friends and family. The single rooms are roomy and well equiped, and the staff are great - particulat thanks to the concierge team and (great stuff) Frank on the front Door - made us feel like VIPs
Very clean rooms, friendly staff
The staff were excellent , supurb location for Convent Garden and the West End theatre. Thankyou for your service especially the duty manager Nidhi Kumar.
clean and efficient. great location. we would return, but i think there is a better deal to be made if you bargain.
Not stayed at this hotel for some years. The hotel makeover is great and the rooms look very smart and clean
This is the second time I have stayed in the Strand Palace. The location is brilliant, staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean but small with low ceilings, especially the bathrooms so if you`re tall like me, it can feel claustrophobic. Good price for that location. Will come again.
Check-in was rather slow, though the staff did apologise for this. This is the fifth time I`ve stayed at the Strand Palace, so clearly I`m happy to return. Rooms are very small, but adequeate. The bathroom was clean and the shower of good size. Pillows were a little overstuffed - like most hotels. Breakfast is good if taken early, though the breakfast room fills up quickly and one is diverted to a less satisfactory location.I noted for the management that the green digital clock on the TV is bright and I had to pull the plug on the machine to get some sleep. This is not normally a problem, but the plug in question was very inaccessible. Pulling the cord to disconnect was simple. The staff will have a hard time reconnecting it.
Excellent service from all staff, high level of facilities in the Hotel and located within a short walk of some of the best areas in the City. We are happy to recommend this Hotel.
After watching a wonderful show in the west end we returned to the hotel and enjoyed a drink in the comfort of the bar which was all very nice. Unfortunately the enjoyment ceased when we retired to our room for the night. We could not sleep due to noise of the extractor fans which were very loud and made louder by the fact that the closure on the window was broken and the wind made a terrible howling noise in the aperture. This totally ruined for us what had been a very enjoyable visit.
