Charming typical French hotel situated within walking distance of the Moulin Rouge and Montmartre and well placed for access to street restaurants and the main Paris shops and museums - we managed to walk to them all! Small recently refurbished rooms with shower or bath (check which), LCD TV and WiFi access and mini bar. We took our own kettle! Continental breakfast provided but no restaurant although room service meals in the evening by special order. Lovely helpful staff speak English if required. Thoroughly recommended and good value for money.
good position right by the moulin rouge, however wouldn`t agree the hotel being a 3 star, more like 2 star mainly due to the rooms. breakfast was ok though.
Godd hotel, even though rooms are tiny. Breakfast is not bad, but there are no meat choices. Located 50 meters from Moulin Rouge
Clean rooms, nice breakfast, helpful staff
Great proximity to metro. Montmartre access really good. Very bad main street area behind metro if you`re not expecting it. Sex row with explicit photographs easy visible from the street. Not a family area but can be by-passed to climb up hill or catch metro.
staff very helpful
There were two problems with the hotel. The first, and main one, was that our room, which faced the street, was subject to a lot of street noise at night. The second one was that there was no drawer space at all in the room. As a result we literally had to live out of our suitcases. The hanging space was smalland cramped.
Thought location was great - previously stayed around Champs Elysees area. This area has a different feel to it and a good atmosphere. Quite relaxed compared to previous. The hotel reception staff were excellent and couldnt do enough to help or give advice. The room was small and lacked a set of drawers, and as usual, there was a lack of hangers in the very small wardrobe. The plus side of the room was the excellent view of the Moulin Rouge from our window (side view). Breakfast was very basic and the staff weren`t as helpful as reception. They were quite slow at replenishing everything and I found I had to keep asking for things which made me feel as if I was a nuisance. The breakfast staff also seemed to bang and clatter everything as they cleared up which didnt make for a very relaxing breakfast time. This could be improved. However, overall, our stay was lovely and I would definitely re-visit this hotel
There were 2 issues for us - although there was a telelvision in each bedroom there were no english speaking channels at all. If the hotel wants to attract international guests, especially ones that want to relax in their rooms sometime then being able to watch and understand the television programme would be helpful instead of watching american programmes dubbed into French which was frustrating. Also the breakfast was very basic. If like me other guests like something savoury for their breakfast then they would be disappointed. Although continental is not a problem there was no fresh fruit nor was there any cheese or cold meats- everything was sweet. If I had been staying longer than 2 nights I would have looked for breakfast elsewhere. We did have a problem with a taxi fare which was dealt with very sympathetically by the reception staff who were extremely helpful generally.
This was a great little find for a weekend hotel. A stone`s throw from the Moulin Rouge, it`s a great place to soak up the atmosphere of Momatre. The hotel was average and no frills, but clean and comfortable, we even had a little balcony, we were in Room 8. The staff were all very friendly and all spoke English and were very helpful, although don`t book The Open Bus Tour through them, otherwise you pay commission. Breakfast was fine, but get there before 9 to avoid the crowd as this is a deceptively big hotel.
Shared a twin room, with my friend arriving later, but when he arrived he was initially told that nobody by my name was staying at the hotel, despite him providing my name and booking details. A safe in the room costs 20euros. Internet costs 7 euros for 1 hour. Staff did help wherever possible though and initial confusion was forgotten towards the end. By the way, hotel is very near Paris red light district (which we didn`t realise!).
although the the reception staff gave us warm welcome and they had a very good english, the room was tiny, filthy, with old and uncomfortable furniture ( double bed = two single beds pushed together ) and the bathroom was a nightmare, very filthy, there was no way to get a fresh air in, full of cobwebs and I don`t even want to think too much about what else ...We have been to many hotels before and this one was really the worst comparing the price. Also very noisy at night ( metro and shouting ).Would not recommend this for families with children ( very close to sex shops ) , neither to a couples for a romantic holiday...
Apart from the lift being out of order, the room being small and the breakfast being a bit average the hotel served us appropriately. The staff were friendly and helpful. When my sister was unwell the receptionist found us a doctor (across the road).
We were 6 ladies who went away for the weekend. The location was good for us. We did lots of walking so was in a good spot to get to everything we wanted to see. Hotel rooms were comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Not bad for the price paid.
Poor quality breakfast facilities. Many cereal bowls were damaged and chipped. The lift was out of order for the end of our stay making it difficult to go down three flights of stairs with suitcases. Rooms were not adequately cleaned each day and even the plastic cups in the rooms were not replaced after use. However, very pleasant and courteous staff on reception who were very good with advice on the sites to see in Paris.
Rooms are small and corridors cramped but no problem if you just want it as base for sightseeing. It was clean and staff were friendly. Continental breakfast was limited but still good and well presented in pleasant dining room. Ideal for arrival by Eurostar at Gard du Nord and for visiting Montmartre area. Easy to get to anywhere in Paris in fact as right next to Blanche metro station. Ideal for short stay break. Directly opposite Moulin Rouge as well. A lively part of Paris but it was quiet enough when we were there in April.
Bedroom neat tidy clean, bathroom a little small but same. Buffet breakfast very good, as good as any i`ve had. Staff - FIRST CLASS, welcoming, helpful and accomodating. I love the city but staff like these make any stay better
Unfortunately the room we had on the fifth floor only had a skylight. That was disappointing because the Eiffel Tower was on the horizon
Our room was at the front of the hotel and the street was rather noisy at night as there were a number of clubs in close proximity. I had the impression from the hotel information that it was in a quiet side street! To have my sleep disturbed each night was a disappointment to say the least. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with quite a selection. Overall it was good but the noise factor means I would not recommend the hotel to friends.
Despite mentioning twice, no action taken to sort out a leak from the bath which caused a wet patch in the bedroom on the carpet.Good breakfast and friendly helpful reception staff (apart from dealing with the leak).Room very small with no storage space (e.g. chest of drawers) apart from small wardrobe.
After reading some comments we were a little worried about what to expect. We were happy with all aspects of the hotel, staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was just what you would expect, fresh and plentiful. Our room was small but on a short break was all we needed as a base. 2mins from Blanche metro station could not have asked for more.
Some rooms are quite small, although very neat and clean. We were moved to a larger room without any fuss, and were very happy with the one we then had. The continental breakfast is excellent, well presented and in a comfortable setting. The rooms are clean and well equipped. The staff could not have been better - always helpful and friendly. The position of the hotel is good for Montmartre and a few steps from the metro, but not an area for children!
A good base for exploring the City. Our room was adequate for a short stay but only just. The bathroom was tiny though the children`s room was better and the bathroom larger. Our room also had a strong stale tobacco smell and but for wanting to be near the children`s room we would have tried to change. A good Italian restaurant just further down rue fontaine but next time would try some of the restaurants in Montmartre. Reasonable accommodation at a reasonable price for a fairly central location but don`t expect luxury.
Excellent location 2 minutes walf from Metro station. Bedroom was very small but adequately equipped. Standard of presentation was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very good value for money.
friendly staff, no problems with room, a great base for sightseeing, very quick to metro.
our stay was only 2days long, the hotel receptionists were really nice and helpful, the area seemed quite dodgy surrounded but seedy sex shops and prositutes, and loads of begger and tramps around Blance and the road the hotel was on. The room we were put in was a box, it was really small, the room service menu was small and when sleeping at night, you could here other quests returning home, it was an average stay but we won`t we going back
Great location, good service, nice hotel, thoroughly enjoyed our stay in paris...
Well siuated hotel for sightseeing, with a secure car park just up the road. All staff were approachable and helpful. The room, although small, was very clean and comfortable. Our room with a balcony was at the front of the hotel so we also enjoyed plenty of atmosphere!
We had a wonderful time at the hotel, it was a small neat, clean little room. Perfect Location, friendly staff, and good breakfast (for the money) we were there for 4 nights and only used it as base - we came across no problems apart from the street facing rooms (such as ours) were very noisy at night at weekends. would have no problems staying there again, but would like to stay in a different part of the city next time. 7/10
a very plesant stay everything you need for a one night stay to see the show moulin rouge. nice breakfast very friendly.
Breakfast a bit chaotic - no plates, no glasses and a queue for a table - people pushing in etc - not a good start to Sunday morning.
Hotel is well placed in a lively area of Paris. Although the rooms are small, apparently common in Paris, it was well maintained and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly, despite our poor french. Would recommend for anyone sight-seeing as within 2 mins walk of the Metro. Enjoyed our stay and would return.
Well looked after hotel, quiet in such a bussly area. Ideal to get to see everything you want. would definately stay again, recommend to all.
