I booked on line on 23 April and on arrival you had no booking. The receptionist (Daniel) was extremely helpful and eventually got me sorted with a room. However, it was a disabled room, with no bath, and frankly the bathroom was tired to say the least. I also had a dirty towel in the bathroom. he only other room available was a smoking room. Daniel saved the day by being so pleasant and apologetic.
Have stayed here twice now - executive room was excellent with super views and very comfortable - very nice breakfast - would definitely recommend
the hotel although advertised as four star was more like a three star. I think that they rely heavily on the restaurant Chino Latino`s to justify their four star status. Although the restaurant was nice, I do feel that the food although tasty was overrated. I think the prices are far too expensive and if I were to stay in Leeds again I would choose another hotel and eat out at one of the many fine restaurants in Leeds.
Had a one night stay at Park Plaza with my Daughter for her birthday. Room was large, with a great view across the city, had trouble getting daughter away from view, we were on the 19th floor. Beds were very comfortable and the room was warm, thank goodness it was freezing outside. Went down to the bar for a latte coffee, but it arrived only luke warm, had to complain to the lovely waiter, he said he was sorry it was the machine. I suggested a new machine and he said he would love one. Come on Park Plaza make your customers and staff happy. Next morning went down for breakfast or should I say BRUNCH , on Sunday its served upto 12 pm. The food was really nice and well cooked with lots of variety. Overall a pleasant stay, staff were so polite and halpful, would go back again.
Plus side, central, good beds, clean and a not half bad breakfast.Negatives, staining to bedroom chairs and resteraunt seats was unacceptable. If I had booked the resteraunt in isolation to the hotel booking I would have turned around and gone elsewhere. They were grim and need deep cleaning or replacing. The internet access via old CRT TVs was very poor.We booked to stay 1st/2nd January. The resteraunt along with most resteraunts in Leeds were shut on the evening of the 1st,so we ate at Macs in the rail station..How odd to not have a resteraunt working in a hotel ??
I waited an hour and a half for a sandwich and soup (they phoned me 3 times to confirm my order) and ordered a breakfast for the morning which never came. Carpets need a serious re-ferb. Apart from that, staff are friendly and helpful, location is spot on and rooms are spacious with excellent bathroom facilities. Recommended........just eat out!
A wonderful hotel with a friendly, welcoming service. My room overlooked the whole of Leeds City, Very impressive. The room service fantastic. The only downfall is that the contemporary layout was spoiled by the Flat Square Tube, old skool style tv. Should have been a Flatscreen to compliment the rest of the room. And a little annoyance, there are no towel hooks in the bathroom, or rail. But i could put that aside lol.
We were very pleased with our one night stay at the Park Plaza Leeds. I had booked three rooms at a special rate and the rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet. Even though it was not mentioned on the internet site, there were tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. Service at reception on our arrival was fast and efficient. The hotel is right in the centre of the city and close to all amenities. A very pleasant stay.
We stayed at the park plaza in leeds just after the christmas period. When we arrived at the hotel we checked in to the room but had problems with the television in the room as there was no picture at all. So the hotel manager put us into another room but we got put in to a disabled room which was disapointing as this room just had a shower. There was a lack of hot water and the bath room smelt of pee as soon as you walked into the bathroom.I dont think we will be so going back again. But the location of the hotel is very good and the staff are really friendly.
We always stay at the Park Plaza, at least six times a year. We also always stay in an Executive room as they are much nicer. However, the whole hotel is looking a little tired, the breakfast seats (which are also part of the bar) are very soiled and I felt a little uneasy eating food on such soiled seats.
Overall good, with excellent receptionists and the room was clean and well kept. Don`t let the hotel fade for a small outlay on the carpet replacement / cleaning. Front of house means a lot!
staff excellent the hotel itself was amazing will visit again every thing you wont in your room and more THANKYOU FOR MAKEING MY BIRTHDAY ONE TO REMEMBER
The Park Plaza is situated in a prime position, walking distance from the railway station, the shopping centres and the numerous bars and restuarants. The staff at the hotel from reception down th the cleaners are excelent. We will definately we stay again at the Hotel the next time we visit Leeds.
Disappointing experience, park plaza organised a taxi transfer for us to alternativeaccomodation but after waiting nearly 15 minutes and taxi hadn`t arrived we wlked to the alternative accomodation as time was getting on and we had an engaement to attend. The metropole was average.
We had a problem: no hot water for washbasins. This was quickly sorted out with a change of rooms.Continental breakfast not very interesting - awful croissants, sliced bread toast and indifferent jam/marmalade and coffee - easily solved!
very freindly
I found the overall hotel to be good, excellent rooms, very modern and the room was very clean had evverything we needed. I wasnt happy about the check in time as I had to wait an extra 2 hours for my room to be cleaned. If i would have been able to check in when needed I would have rated this excellent. Other than that the staff was friendly, and we had everything we needed. Would definatly book again in future.
on arrival rooms wasn`t ready although it was 1 o`clock.checked bags in and went around leeds.came back about 5 o`clock booked 3 double rooms only getting 2 and 1 twin. i booked well in advance and expected to get 3 double rooms which you comfirmed.
We have stayed in the hotel on several occasions. Previously we have had pretty good service but we have noticed this year that the hotel is getting very scruffy/ tired/ dirty (carpets!). We booked 3 x executive rooms however two of them did not have the complimentary fruit and wine, and we had to remind the Reception to get it. Usually we book the executive rooms, as they are definately the best however the carpets are really getting soiled in the communal areas. Not sure if we`ll stay there again.
Otherwise the hotel was very good and I would recommend it to others just unfortunate about the parking facilities.
An excellent hotel. Very clean and modern. Superb location for central Leeds.Got a great deal via Hotel Direct.
I booked this hotel for my friend as she was coming out of hospital and I wanted her to have a night of rest and relaxation in what is described as ?air conditioned and has movies on demand? neither of this is true as we wanted to purchase a movie which was unavailable and we were unable to do so even though we were willing to pay, as for the air con it blew out hot air which was horrendous. The room had stubbed out cigarette marks on both the carpet and the curtains and it was rather dusty and bits of furniture were flaked off showing the underneath of the wood , I have stayed in many of other Park Plaza I don`t think I would stay here again as it`s the worst Park Plaza I have stayed in .
The hotel is lovely, I recommend upgrading to the 20th floor penthouse suite as the views were amazing. The room itself was fantastic, living and dinning area with seperate WC, then bedroom with huge bed and another bathroom (containing 3 showers and a bath!!). The room i suppose could have done with a refresh, the carpets were slightly worn and the sofa was stained, but for a quick overnight stay it was great. We went out for dinner to an Italian restaurant on Mill Lane opposite the hotel which i can fully recommend, reasonable prices and fantastic food! Complimentary breakfast was included in our stay so we ordered it to the room and ate it at our own provate dinning table. The breakfast choice was extensive, although some of the things we ordered did not arrive. The hotel does not have a carpark but there is an NCP about 2 mins walk away that charges £13 for 24 hours. Overall i would say it was a great hotel with excellent value for money.
although the room`s decor was ultra contempary it was on the small side, but we still enjoyed our stay
Friendly staff, Great rooms and lovely food. What more does one need?
Fab views over Leeds from higher floors. V good restaurant attached and the train station, shops, restaurants and entertainment are all within easy walking distance. Staff are welcoming, there`s free wi-fi in the lobby and a bar where you can people watch while you have a snack/drink
The entrance is quite concealed and understated for a 4 star hotel. The room was satisfactory and the dining area satisfactory, although seating was different. There was fight in reception in the early hours of Sunday morning which also involved the security staff which was very disconcerting.
