"Room was comfortable, staff friendly and helpful and breakfast was good"

Very good location, tube stations close so easy to get to shops and sights. Room had nice decor, comfortable beds and there was plently of room. Only fault was dirty grout around shower. Lifts were fast. Staff were all frienhdly and very helpful. Wou7ld stay there again and recommend

"Service in restaurant/ food/room were all good. HOWEVER!! see review"

The checkin was appalling - it took nearly 15 mins and then an 8 minute wait for the lift to take me to the 8th floor. On checkout again this took 15 mins and 3 staff were on reception but all had queries on bills to deal with. - this needs much closer monitoring extremly poor!!

"very poor, not a hidden gem, more like a dated overpriced travel inn"

this was not worthy of the 170£ a night that i paid. the service was well below par. the room was awful and dated. the TV is positioned in such a was that you couldn`t actually watch it in the bed. I would not advise to stay here for the price

"Lovely Hotel, Shame About the Breakfast!"

Full english breakfast was (allegedly!) included in my room rate. Not having time to have a sit down breakfast in the restaurant, I opted to have a continental breakfast in my room, that I could easily consume as I was getting ready. I fully expected to pay a tray charge for this service. HOWEVER, I was told that I`d have to pay the FULL price, AGAIN. So, didn`t have any breakfast in the end and this has soured my view of the hotel.

"Fantastic service!!"

On entering the hotel, the staff could not have been more helpful..Upgraded with no extra charge to a fantastic room....The room was spacious with everything you could wish for..The bar staff especially Ibrahim???...something like that...was great, again nothing was too much trouble.. Cant wait to return!! Thank you so much for a great bank holiday weekend!!

"Great staff, great room, great service, very comfortable"

Recevied a free upgrade on arrival to a junior suite which was very unexpected but very enjoyable. We found the staff to be very attentive and professional while the quality of the food (breakfast was included in the price) was very good. We will definatley consider using Hotel Direct in the future. Well done and thank you.

"Okay, but you can do better"

Room wasn`t ready even though we checked in at 5:00pm. Broken kettle. Room was fine but very small and a bit tired. At breakfast we had eaten our cereal and went to get a cooked breakfast, when we came back to our table it had been cleared and given to someone else (saw this happen to another couple as well).

"Fantastic Hotel"

This Hotel was fantastic. My friend and I wanted a nice relaxing w/end away with a Hotel that was central and this did not disappoint. Very well located with good facilities, amazing breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely weekend - thanks!

The service and room were fine. Breakfast was very good. Dinner overcooked and soggy, so eat somewhere else for the dinner and enjoy the rest!

"Glad I did not pay full price"

We booked this as a late break, The room was small with tired decor. The kettle was balanced on a tiny shelf and the lead only just fitted into the socket, the hair drier did not work and the main light in the bedroom did not work.

"Good value for money when booked at discounted price as a secret hotel"

Room size good for London but a bit tired. Hairdryer in the bathroom is the old wall mounted `hosepipe` type; fine for drying hair but not for styling - take your travel hair dryer if you need to style your hair. Ligting in room is really bad - no central room light, only wall mounted and table lamps.Service is average. Breakfast is exceptiional for choice but quality is variable; I love my cooked breakfasts but didn`t go for the bacon, sausage and black pudding as they were not v. good quality. But as I said, buffet has a vast array of choice so I still really enjoyed my breakfast - went for scrambled egg and smoked salmon.

"Lovely hotel and exceptional location at great value"

We were able to book this at a really modest cost - the hotel is less than 5 ins from marble arch tube station and throwing distance from Oxford street, which makes the splendour of the venue all the more impressive. We were upgraded to business class when we arrived (earlier than expected) at the substitution of the double room for a twin. Room was very nicely presented with all mod cons, and the breakfast buffet catered for just about everything. Only reason this doesn`t get `excellent` is that the shower went cold when using it in the morning - it was fine the night before so this was probably just the boiler struggling to cope with peak time. This was a relatively small issue though, and I`d definitely stay there again at the price we paid!

"Nice hotel in good location for Oxford Street close to M&S, Primark, New Look etc. "

Had an enjoyable stay, the staff were friendly rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast was superb buffet style @ £19 per head worth getting in the room rate. There is a nice lounge area with an open fire.

"Good standard, clean and friendly"

Often London hotels that are in the budget category (all relative) can have nice foyers and pretty grotty bedrooms. These rooms were really lovely, and merited the 4 star status - bought at a budget by London standards. Staff was also friendly.

"Wonderful hotel, will definatley go back"

We had a lovely stay here, shame it was only one night!We were on the 11th floor and had a fantastic view. The room was great, good size very clean tidy and well decorated - not at all tired. The bed was v comfy indeed and had beautiful bedding. Decent tea&coffee supplied in the room and luxurious toiletries.The breakfast was superb and with the best choice - i cant think anyone couldnt have found what they wanted.The staff were all very friendly and could not have been more helpful or professional.Well located, few minutes from the tube and a taxi rank right outside.Cant wait to go back!

"nice place. poor;y organised"

we were supposed to check in at 14.00 hours but we didn`t arrive at the hotel until 14.30. so we were very suprised to be told that our room wasn`t ready and we would have to wait another 30 minutes. at 15.00 we were given the key for our room. on entering the room it was immediatley obvious that the room hadn`t been vacated, there were belongings and an opened suitcase on the bed! we went down to inform reception where we were told to wait another 30 minutes while they sorted it out. after 45 minutes nobody had approached to let us know anything about what was happening so we went back to the desk, where we were told that they were sorry and that we would be upgraded. however, we didnt get upgraded, we got exactly the same type of room we should have had in the first place, except two hours later than we expected!

"Delightful Experience"

I`m pleased to report that my recent stay at the xxxxx xxxxx hotel was a delightful experience. The staff were very friendly, helpful & polite. On arrival I was given a free upgrade to business class which was a pleasant surprise. The room was comfortable & well presented & the buffet breakfast very enjoyable. The hotel is literally a 10 minute walk away from Oxford street & all the surrounding attractions. I booked the hotel for a weekend visit to the theatre & would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone visiting London for a weekend break. I look forward to staying at the xxxxx xxxxx when I next visit the capital.

"Over rated hotel"

I think four stars is over rated for this hotel. The rooms were small and cramped and in need of some TLC, breakfast service was poor, tables were not ready and were dirty when we were seated by the host and hot drinks were not forthcoming we needed to ask on both days. The hotel location is good though for shopping and access
