++ modern, well equipped, friendly staff, near River Liffey and Samuel Beckett bridge, near nice pub, the Ferryman, excellent breakfast, clean rooms with space.- distance to city, Cardiff lane in construction ( noise), no parking facilities.
good hotel, friendly staff that can accomodate infants without a fuss. in-house resturants providing good value-for-money during promotion time.Only downside was lack of parking outside hotel. It was very difficult to get space to unpack. They do have a deal with the closest parking unit (about 10mins walk) but will still add on around 18Euros a day.
Hotel clean and friendly, tho stay in 3 stars normally and they have better room facilites. Only one pillow each. Walls thin could hear people both sides, snoring coughing etc. Extensive building work outside which started at 7am! Windows useless as they let in all the noise, could even hear people talking in the street and we where 3 floors up. Breakfast service slow not enough staff, ordered a newspaper, still waiting. If I was staying longer I would have moved hotel. Spa nice clean etc.
Hotel staff friendly & efficient, rooms clean and fairly big (ours was a standard room & had a double and single bed plus armchairs/table etc.). We liked the location as it was far enough away from the centre to be quiet but close enough to walk (about 20 mins along river side). Plenty of taxis around if walking a problem - about 10 to 12 euro from say Temple Bar. Would definitely stay there again on return visits.
good position, excellent rooms, excellent breakfast and good value accommodation.
Had a great stay. Everything great, pool a great facility for city centre location.
The local dockland area is being developed and will be a brilliant location when finished.
Pool, sauna etc also good, although no locks for lockers.
Comfortable hotel , good location, generally well run - except for breakfast arrangements. Queues 2 of 3 days due mainly not to the lack of tables but the slow speed at which they were turned around. Also poor surveilance of what needed to be replenished.
The only problem was that the hotel had no car park, we had to park on the street but only for a maximum of 3 hours during paying periods. Which meant we had to keep goin out to put yet more money in the parking meters.
LOVELY CLEAN HOTEL, VERY FRIENDLY HELPFUL STAFF, A 10 MIN WALK ALONG THE RIVER TO O`CONNELL STREET AND TEMPLE BAR
A well run international hotel, with international staff keen to help and serve your every need. The hotel itself is in the quay side development which is dotted with cranes and undergoing major development. The area will be fantastic when finished in 2/3 years time. It is a ?10 cab journey into Dubin`s pub and restaurant area. The rooms are clean, pleasant and comfortable. We had a very enjoyable stay.
Too expensive to eat at the hotel. The shower area in the female changing rooms of the health club was mouldy
on the downside, pool was not warm enough but jacuzzi too hot to stay in for long and two tea bags per day for a double room was definately not enough, breakfast staff very cheeful and helpful but breakfast spread pretty basic.
If you stayed at the hotel on Good Friday you needed a `substantial meal` to get an alcoholic drink. A bag of crisps was not enough but a bowl of soup was, so it was a bowl of soup and a pint of the black stuff. The staff were apologetic but the law is the law but according to our taxi driver it was only this hotel !! It was good otherwise.
Overall this was a decent stay, although we were disturbed by other raucous guests, I don`t necessarily think that was the hotel`s fault. When we complained, they were courteous, and asked us to call down if it happened again.Breakfast was average, and the fruit juice was so sweet it was practically undrinkable. Fruit was not great either - you would think for the money it would be a bit better. Not too far to walk into city centre - about 10-15 minutes. Poor views from hotel looking over building site from our room.
The food for breakfast was very cheap, the service was sketchy, the rooms were clean but anonymous. The swimming pool was so cold that swimming was uncomfortable. Dinner was ok but the dining room was like a canteen. Not what I`ve come to expect from this class of hotel. But not a disaster. Nice location on the docks, but a little far for my 5yr olds legs to walk from town comfortably.
Had a good comfortable stay at the Maldron, staff were pleasant, breakfast was good but would have been better if there was a choice of cooked eggs and sometimes the food was not hot enough. It is a good 20 minute walk to OConnell St.
Reception left a little to be desired, difficulty with language barrier and a small request for an ash tray in our smoking room not actioned. Walk into town much longer than had been lead to believe but would recommend the rooms, really comfortable and breakfast was great.
Still doing refurbishment and there is a lot of building construction work going on in the immediate and surrounding area - Popular International Hotel - Hotel bar used for private functions on 2 of the 3 nights we stayed - breakfast good but the choice was the same every day, very busy on Saturday we had to queue - bedroom clean, comfortable and spacious - lovely Spa facilities
It was a clean, very basic hotel in a derelict looking area of Dublin, more Dublin docks than Docklands. Clients should not be misled, as they are doing by saying it is a ten minute walk from the centre of Dublin - a fit person could not do this in less than 2o minutes through dog fouled, run down.streets.Breakfast was good but the restaurant food was ridiculously expensive ( I have just returned from Dubai and found it cheaper). The bar meals were OK whan one could find a seat and if one was willing to put up with the indifferent staff. The reception staff were either ill informed or unhelpful. We found the staff at the leisure centre more friendly and useful.Best bit - The Irish staff. What a pity the hotel doesn,t employ more of them!
Food is good, a little bit of a bun fight for breakfast. Nice level walk into the middle of Dublin. Don`t expect to hear many Irish voices though! ?2.50 for a swimming hat on top of room hire. Pub at the end of the road is good but dearer per pint than pubs in the middle of Temple Bar.
Whilst the hotel itself was good, the description of the location was almost criminally misleading. `Set on the banks of the river Liffey` - no, 50yds up a side street, if you have an upper storey room you can see the river if you lean out and look left, otherwise it`s behind construction work boarding. `in the heart of Dublin`s trendy South Bank` - no, there is nothing but construction sites in the vicinity, a long walk even to the nearest coffee shop. `Trinity College in 10mins` - no, unless you mean the edge of the playing fields, it`s a good 20mins to Front Gate. `Pleasant 15min stroll along riverbank to O`Connell Bridge` - no, no and no, not pleasant (1st 5mins river is behind boarding, afterwards pretty bleak), and a good 20mins brisk walk!
had a great stay at the hotel.it is a fair distance from the centre but you don`t notice when walking along the river side.the room was really comfortable and nicely heated. nice decor and very clean. there was maid service everyday. breakfast was fairly busy but the dining area was big enough to seat everyone!would recommend this hotel to anyone that doesn`t mind a bit of a walk.takes around 15mins
This is a good hotel which is only 10-15 mins walk from the shops and Temple bar. There is a lot of building work around it at the moment due to the development of the waterfront, but this isnt a problem. The gym and pool are just what you need after a busy day or night looking round Dublin.
An ideal place to stay for a long weekend. Short stroll into town or temple bar, river walk or town. Will definitely return next year.
This hotel was worth the money paid for the facilities provided. Also only a 20 minute walk to temple bar and the rest of the city which is idea for tourists like myself. The hotel was very well kept clean, tidy and all the little details were thought about. I would happily pay to stay there again.
Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff were very nice but I am afraid there was a lack of local knowledge. Only met two locals throughout our stay.
Breakfast a little chaotic Sat &Sun, ran out of bacon if we waited rest of food would be cold.
