We come to London 2/3 times per year. each time a different hotel. Some good, some average, some right turkeys. This is the best one yet. We can only fault was the expresso machine which does not vend very hot coffee. Rooms are big, they are well equiped, (hairdryer, iron + board, safe, fridge, 3 seats, work space, etc), the beds are comfy, TV is a proper size, wake up call was on time, staff were efficent and friendly, it was clean, modern and in very good condition. The shower is magical, and the compliamentary bottled water, milk and newspaper were appreciated. Will try to book here again next time. Finally it is very competitively priced and superbly locarted. You will not be disappointed here.
After ordering a drink and a meal to be taken in the bar, I was served quickly and the food was fine. I had finished my Gin and Tonic relatively quickly but no one came to ask if I required another drink which I would have ordered. I finished my food and, despite trying to attract the attention of either of the bar staff, I sat for 15 minutes and no one came near me to clear my plate or ask if I would like a dessert. I realise that there was a party of young women at the other end of the bar which seemed to monopolise their attention. In the end I got up and left the bar and probably could have walked out of the hotel without paying, but I spoke to the reception staff, who I had found extremely friendly and helpful and who later brought the bill to my room to be signed. I was very disappointed to be treated in such a disinterested and unfriendly fashion as the hotel is attractive and so well placed for St Pancras.
Hotel Direct are excellent. Kept us informed about our booking. Will defferently use them again
Everyone at the hotel so helpful and obliging. Second time staying at this hotel, would only stay at this hotel when visiting London
We booked room only as part of a theatre break. The hotel is directly facing Kings Cross station which makes it within a tube ride of central London. The room was quite small for three adults but the beds were clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was equipped with a power shower, though no bath. There was a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and iron/board. There is also free wifi, tv etc. Although located on a busy road it was quiet enough with the windows closed. We didn`t sample any food but there were many restaurants and cafes near the hotel which we used for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were also able to leave our luggage on arrival and checkout. Very enjoyable stay.
Could hardly be more convenient for Eurostar and for other Kings Cross / St Pancras routes. Modern clean rooms with modern bathrooms. Adjoining restaurant serves well cooked and presented food with individual menus each day. Would use it again if in that part of London.
A shelf in bathroom to hold toiletries etc would be great help . A lovely hotel , rooms spacious , staff lovely , location excellent .
Reception friendly and helpful. Room comfortable, only problem being that the television didn`t work. However I didn`t ask for assistance as it didn`t really bpther me on that occasion.
Room was spacious and spotless. There was no menu in the room for the restaurant. This would be better than a flyer in the lift as you would have longer to study it and might well be tempted to use it. Did not use restaurant or bar. Heating system was very slow to respond as a result the room was too hot. 2 Teabags of the sort I like were not enough. Otherwise facilities were good Staff friendly but not too efficient. My newspapers were delivered tp room 305 instaed of 503!
We love this hotel. It is charming, hip, comfortable, and a respite right in the middle of the hub tha is King`s Cross and St. Pancras. Our room, a triple, had a great waterfall shower and very comfortable beds with fine linens -- so cozy. Even though the room looked right out onto the hustle and bustle of the train/tube stations across the way, it was quiet. A huge plus is that the restaurant and bar are fantastic: excellent food, groovy atmosphere, creative offerings. My only suggestion would be that the desk staff could be better prepared to recommend restaurants and other useful places nearby or afar.
Staff very helpful and pleasant. Hotel spotless would definatly stay again. Only downfall food expensive in Hotel and drinks very very expensive!.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Nice little boutique hotel, great location for Kings Cross / St Pancras stations, friendly staff who were eager to please BUT "free wi-fi" almost non existent signal strength in the 2 rooms I stayed in. Being "free" is all well & good but if there`s no signal........! Overall a pleasant stay but would have been problematic if I`d needed broadband to do some work
Smart rooms, good service, although can`t comment on the food as I didn`t try any. Well located with easy access to St Pancras and the underground. My fourth or fifth time at the Megaro. Highly recommended.
location easy to find, friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel was situated ideally for St. Pancras and Euston stations. The accomodation, breakfast and the staff were all excellent. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives.
continued from above comment.. shower door in new room had large gap from floor, result flooded bathroom floor great danger of slips.Location great for Eurostar but could NOT recommend this hotel to anyone
No problem booking in late but we did ask for a really early morning call and wrote it on the registration form but they failed to do this. Luckily we had our own alarm clock `just in case` and it proved necessary. They were apologiestic but we could have easily missed our train. Would use you again.
Our room was spacious, tasteful decor and as ladies of a certain age very comfy. The location of the hotel was great as we were on a theatre ,shopping and partying break meeting with our friends who live nearby. We would give top marks for the Megaro and the staff v helpful and friendly.
Needs of guests well catered for. Bottled water in fridge, teas, coffees and daily paper at no extra cost!
This hotel should be under the `little gem` section of the web site because that is just what it is. I would certainly return there when I am next in London. Three cheers for all the staff!!
the hotel is exceptionally clean modern and comfortable. the staff are very pleasant and helpfull and the location is in easy reach of the tube. i would highly recommend this hotel.
Clean hotel, situated next to Kings Cross station, great central location, if you decide to stay here ask for a quite room as one side of the hotel is on Euston Road, which is very busy and noisy. We found it difficult to get a good nights sleep
good central location,friendly staff,room a little tired but clean,would stay again.M Peter
The hotel is a hidden gem, but in a great location. Very friendly staff and a great team in the bar and restuarant. Will use this hotel again in the future.
Our room was spacious for a london hotel and well furnished plenty of cupboard space, lighting a bit dim even with them all on. Bathroom clean and modern with lovely big wash basin, the shower had no door though and the water went all over the bathroom floor, had to mop up after use which was a pain. Breakfast was not included in price and we thought it was expensive for what you got, however the location cannot be faulted as we had an early train to catch the next morning. Would stay again but not have breakfast. Bar open late when we got back from the 02 and drrinks reasonably priced.
Good location close to railway terminus,we were allowed to check in early, all staff we came into contact with were pleasant and helpful, slept well despite best efforts of emergency services on Euston Road and passing drunks.
We had a problem getting the air conditioning to work and as a consequence had to have the window open, which was noisy. This may just have been our incompetency with the system, but did mean we had a very disrupted night sleep.
Great family run hotel, good quality rooms, really comfy beds and pillows which is a must for me and really friendly staff who are happy to run out and flag a taxi for you...
