I have never stayed in a hotel room as small as this. There was no hot water in the shower and the shower gel dispenser was totally empty. It was a birthday present on a theatre package and was extremely disappointed. We complained, and apologised, but no other rooms available as full. So just had to put up with it, not acceptable, so beware of this hotel just not what we expected. Feel some compensation should be offered.
Room was basic which is fine. Shower did not work, so had to move rooms to shower which was not convenient, whci made us late for the show.
Room very dated, bed cover had a hole in in it,toilet and sink very stained. Staff friendly , hotel in a good position for the tube and theatres.
Great location for everything in central London very convenient and clean.
Not knowing what to expect we were VERY pleasantly surprised. We can`t praise the staff enough nothing was too much trouble especially in the restaurant upstairs. Food excellent, a wonderful spread for breakfast greeted you each morning, the only thing missing which would have been nice were croissants. Well done St Giles, will be returning soon.
Very noise, room nothing quality at all. Clean room the all! Thanks anyway.
Rooms were clean but very cramped and the shower was tiny and with a very slippery base. The hotel needs a variety of rooms of different size and quality. Breakfast (for extra payment) excellent. Concierge very helpful. Main benefits are proximity to Tottenham Court Rd Underground and hotel being within easy walking distance of all the West End shows.
Only problem was having to run around in shower to get wet
Noisy air con, room the size of a rabbit hutch !but par for the course for central London.
This is my 5th or 6th stay at the St. Giles. Very clean, breakfast is plentiful. The rooms are not very big, but they are adequate & fully furnished to suit a night or two stay for my weekend theatre breaks. It`s in just the right location & it will not be my last stay there.
Good position for theatres and underground
Good hotel, pleasant staff, very helpful with all our needs. Pre theatre meal was very good and room was clean and tidy. Bathroom was lovely and very comfortable bed. Would recommend
Very noisy Lifts a nightmare Only 2 star 127775; definitely not a 3
The position for the theatre could not be better. 10 minute walk through the buzzing West end to the theatre. Staff very helpful. Have marked as average as the room was a little tired looking but to be fair, the price was good.
I was a little disappointed with the room, there were holes in the carpet and the drainage in the sink and shower wasn`t very good. The beds were comfortable and clean. Room service was perfectly fine.
Stayed before, Hotel looking tired Plus wi fi a problem! It`s free but useless. You can upgrade at a cost , really after paying £120 a night for a really tight room
Hotel excellent and good value for money
The website and pictures promised a more luxurious stay than experienced. The room was very small with a small double bed. Carpet was worn and the bathroom door didn`t shut properly. Furniture was very dated. Staff were friendly and attentive, and breakfast was good. It was convenient for the theatre... About a 15 to 20 min walk
Small but clean and has all the amenities
Our only problem was the lift situation. You had to wait a long time. If you chose to use the stairs they were very badly signed
Hair dryer Blew up on my wife only just started using it. phoned reception they did replace it but no apology, could of been quite serious.
Good clean room and great breakfast
great location. Rooms quite compact but had everything we needed for 1 night. Bathroom looked a bit worn and the shower area didn`t look clean.
The room was tiny with no curtains only a damaged Blind not blocking out any light the room was extremely hot with the window closed despite no heating on the noise from the road was very loud through out the night resulting in the need to buy ear plugs considering the cost it was very poor value a travel lodge would have been a lot cheaper and better value
Room a bit small but excellent location
The hotel was good but the room does need a bit of updating. I understand that they are in the process of carrying out these upgrades
Staff very helpful and pleasant. Room clean, as was bathroom and shower. Shower was really powerful! We were in standard room, it was small and basic (no plugs next to the bed) but had everything we needed. Evening meal was very reasonably priced. Lots of choice for breakfast, which was very good. I would stay here again. Brilliant location for theatres and access to central London. Walking distance to National Gallery and Trafalgar Square. Loads of places to eat and supermarkets for supplies near by. Just off main road so wasn`t noisy at night. Had a good nights sleep.
Some traffic noise could be heard in friends room during the night but our room was fine - possibly because it was on the opposite side of the hotel. Only one lift was working whilst we were there which was not good for people on the higher floors having to bring their luggage down to reception when leaving the hotel. Good choice for buffet breakfast and friendly staff.
Very close to everything with friendly staff and nice clean and tidy
We stayed here because we went to the theatre next door but one down, excellent location, our room was very basic and small but you can open the window slightly which was great, and the bed at first seemed soft but had actually had a very good nights sleep. Staff were very friendly but I would say the 4 lifts needs sorting out, they are very small and by the night time only 2 were working. Breakfast was fabulous very tasty with everything you need or want, we would actually stay again.
Great location, we booked a classic room which was small but clean. The downside was the ?double? bed seemed on the small side. I`d want a bigger bed next time as I almost fell out a couple of times!
Hotel situated in a great place for us. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Price was great for it`s position. Breakfast was a help yourself so no complaints on that measure. Only drawback was size of room but I guess we got what we paid for. I would stay again for what we got for our money
We weren`t really in the hotel a lot as it was a rather flying visit. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy. It was in the perfect location for where we needed to be and we would definitely stay again.
