Enjoyed a fabulous few days break in London for our Ruby Wedding anniversary staying at the Strand Palace hotel. The staff made us very welcome and gave a complementary room upgrade to make our stay even better. The breakfast is good with an excellent choice of food. The room was clean and warm. Many thanks to everyone for a very enjoyable break.

No information about facilities available including breakfast menus and fire procedures. Restaurant offered small meals but not our liking and would not offer any other smaller meals to my wife`s liking . I was a big disappointment overall, they were not prepared to go the extra mile.
They have been doing this a long time and they are very good at it We`ll certainly stay with them again
Clean, practical and excellent location to enjoy Covent Garden and the West End theatres
Nicely refurbished hotel. Cosy double was small but adequate .... good size bathroom & shower. Good self service buffet breakfast .... cereals (but no porridge), fresh fruit, yogurts, hot buffet, pastries. Excellent location for sightseeing.... close to Theatres, Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square, River & Westminster.
The hotel itself is clean. The bedroom was rediculously small with a small double bed pushed into a corner. My husband is a big guy and he couldn`t sleep in the bed we found it very very uncomfortable. The bathroom was extremely tiny making it very difficult to get out of the shower. Location was fantastic. Such a shame about the room. Breakfast service on the Sunday was fabulous, great staff lovely food. Breakfast service on the Monday not so great. The guy serving the breakfast I found him to be very rude. He served an American couple before my husband and totally ignored him. He had to command attention and then found him very very indifferent toward him. Our weekend overall was lovely but we wouldn`t rebook this hotel
A****** wow, lovely stunning Hotel, had a dingle room was again A**** staff could not be more helpfull. Very clean, Gin Bar - yum yum yummmy
Nice hotel, room a bit smaller than we anticipated nonetheless was very clean and comfortable. Complimentary anniversary drinks vouchers was a lovely gesture.
We were very disappointed for a stay we were really looking forward to unfortunately. The hotel was beautiful under first impression. The lady booking us in told us she had upgraded us but hadn`t which again wasn`t an issue just strange that she had said we were upgraded when we were still in a standard double room with just a double bed. We then were woken from 1am and unable to get back to sleep due to the noise, the banging, crashing and door slamming. And then what sounded like trolleys being clanged about from 6am. My husband is a deep sleeper and even he was woken! We then never got given the chance to even mention this to the lady who checked us out. She just took our cards and waved us on without a word when I tried to speak she turned her back so we just walked away disappointed.
Very unhelpful reception staff - booked 2 x double rooms but only allocated a single. Water wouldn`t run away in the sink, view awful. Poor value for money, won`t recommend.
Booked as part of a theatre break. Although not supposed to check in until 2pm arrived at 10.15 to find room all ready. Very smart room. Loved the walk in shower. All staff very polite and friendly. Breakfast was very tasty. Had lots of choice such as pastries , cereal , yoghurt , toast and fruit and the cooked buffet had lots of choice and staff serving were very friendly. Will come back definitely.
Booking was easy as part of Theatre Break. The location was excellent......check-in was easy....check-in staff polite and efficient. All the Staff that we met were polite, friendly and good at their jobs. Breakfast was superb, even though the Hotel was busy the staff were able to cope with the numbers. Our room, overlooking The Strand, was clean, comfortable and well-appointed.
So clean. Couldn`t bear sleeping next to a wall (Cosy double) so for £10 upgraded to a Superior double which was slightly bigger but perfect for one night. Very quiet too which was perfect. Literally round the corner from the Lyceum Theatre and across the road from the Savoy Theatre. Perfectly placed for walking around Covent Garden.
Great location, room a good standard although very small. Excellent service and lovely how attentive the staff were as it was our wedding anniversary. The special, extra touches they provided were fabulous- unexpected but much appreciated!!
Great location, nice but small room apart from the light pouring in at 4-30 in the morning cause there is no door on the bathroom, felt a total inconvenience to staff in the bar, got to 11pm and they brought over the bill and card machine without it been requested and then started flashing the lights for us to leave 128580; it was 11pm in a hotel bar in Central London shocking
Excellent room great breakfast
Warm welcome, lovely helpful staff, room was clean well presented and I would say the best hotel I have ever stayed in.
What a great hotel.... Perfect location for exploring London town. Close to everything. Breakfast was very good and the staff couldn`t of been more attentive. the gin bar was welcoming and had a personal touch and feel. We will be booking here again soon. Complimentary drinks on arrival was a great touch too. The room was clean, cool and perfect for our stay.
The room was very small for the price , no hot water in room , plug in sink not working , wont be staying again
Our room was a Superior twin, rather than a cosy twin. I dread to think how small the `cosy` twin room must have been as our Superior room was cramped. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful and the hotel location, perfect for getting to theatres. We saw 3 shows on 3 consecutive nights and was able to walk to all 3 theatres. Hotel also very close to Covent Garden.
Although we upgraded our room on arrival we still had a bathroom that logistically it was almost impossible to move in. To close the door you had to stand down the side of the toilet! Having said that the actual room was spacious and comfortable and it only cost an extra 20 pounds to upgrade! It`s our third visit to the Strand Palace and it`s in a great location if your going to see Tina, pretty woman or the lion King. It was a cab ride away to see Get up stand up.
Only one issue in all my stay - very poor shower in what is an exceptional bathroom for a single traveler
The hotel was excellent clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Would stay again and that you can get in th the shops and cafe through the hotel is excellent. The cafe breakfast was lovey a fiver for English breakfast and 7.00 for a double brilliant. Loved our stay there.
Guest areas/facilities on Ground Floor look like a 4* Hotel but room did not match. It was small but clean and functional. Scaffolding immediately outside window and work began at 8:30 am.
Hotel was great in terms of the room and service. The Indian restaurant was quite frankly overpriced and really only 7/10. Mainly due to the undercooked chicken in the curry, but maybe a one off situation. Hotel opposite the Savoy, wow..
We have stayed at the Strand Palace on many occasions over the past 30 or so years and have always found it to be good, plus its position in London I think it ideal especially so close to Covent Garden and theatre land.
The main areas of the hotel were very pleasant, however the stairways and halls to the bedrooms could certainly do with a make over.
The hotel was excellent, the Staff so helpful and friendly, The meals were well prepared, the Hotel had everything to offer
Very disappointed not to have a bath, never expected for a minute that there would only be a shower in this quality of hotel. Especially as this was an upgrade to a king size. (And my parents had a bath in a much smaller room!) I arranged a complimentary bottle and strawberries as my daughter and her bridesmaids were getting ready for the wedding - guest relations were very good to offer this, but the goodies didn`t arrive as planned and I had to chase it up as time was ticking by. Lovely when they came tho!
Fridge would be useful
Excellent hotel which is central to most tourist attractions. Staff friendly and helpful. Huge variety of foods on offer at buffet style breakfast at a very reasonable cost.
The room was small and the bathroom tiny. The toilet was squashed into a small space and the floor tile grout was dirty. There was one small cheap metal hook held on with one screw even though it should of had two and the bath had chips in it. The double bed was comfortable but as the room was small you could only get on it from one side. The room was too hot even though there was a desk fan provided. For £200 a night I expected much better. All staff were friendly and very polite.
Brilliant
Conveniently located close to the theatre&very helpful staff.
