"Good within the price range. Excellent location."

Room and bathroom very small, if not cramped - no problem for us but could be a minus for some.

"In great condition, good location, excellent service."

Our triple room was spacious by Parisian standards with high ceilings and a light. airy feel. The public areas were tastefully decorated and presented and the breakfast arrangements ideal.

"Hotel only had 1 room for us instead of 3 singles. "

The communal areas of the hotel were very nice, but the room we were offered instead of the 3 singles, was a smelly family room with damp patches on the wall. We were on business and as colleagues we didn`t want to share, but we had no time to look for alternative places to stay. After much arguement we were given a second room, which meant 2 rooms between the 3 of us. It was a big disappointment as we had been looking forward to the trip. It soured our view of the Malte Opera.

"Failed to recognise the booking again."

comfortable and well placed. Insufficient staff. For the second time there was no knowledge of our booking, leading to a long wait, then a noisy room ( an air conditioning system for the hotel was built into the outer wall, shaking it with its vibration) which we moved from. Despite these problems, a good place to stay, and very easy to get around from. I might check out the area for other options next time. Check out/check-in can take a very long tme if there is one person ahead of you - they need more staff on hand to handle these busy times.

Very clean, quiet but central hotel, within walking distance of all areas that you would want to visit in Paris. Good continental breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. What more could you want? We will be back at the end of the year.

"NO Room in the Inn !!!!"

On arrival we were told that our rooms (2 doubles) had been doubled booked & we were moved to another Grand Western - not so central !! NO apology or compensation given. We booked that hotel because we wanted to be central & liked the look of the hotel. New hotel - NO hot water !!!! Rooms ok

"Reception staff lack professionalism"

Despite booking a non-smoking room, I was given a smoking room. The receptionist reluctantly moved me, however clearly wanted to make a point that she was doing this as a favour! Terrible attitude

Information given re 0630 breakfast was wrong. Handled badly by one of your staff.The use of vacuum cleaner during breakfast was not good either , otherwise our stay with you was good

"Requested non smoking rooms - my room smelled extremely stongly of cigarettes. "

Comment from Tracey Maris - one of Ms Abbott`s party. Attitude of staff was totally unhelpful. Full so couldn`t do anything. Very busy due to rail strikes and all non smoking rooms gone. Not thier problem as booked via an agency. `Tough luck` summed up their attitude. Hotel iteslf was comfortable, well located and reasonable value but I would never stay in a best western again. I note in the small print that you cant guarentee such requests but their attitude was most unhelpful.

I did not stay in the hotel. On arrival,we were informed that they had overbooked and we could stay in another Best Western Hotel,the Bergere Opera and theuy would arrange a taxi. After a wait of 45 minutes,they gave up on the taxi and had to walk with our luggage,by this time in the dark,had difficulty finding the hotel. Firstly they should not overbook,secondly you had my contact number and should have called before we set off.Thehotel was OK but not as good a location as the one I had booked.

"No air conditioning "

We discovered on the second day of our stay when the weather suddenly turned much warmer that the airconditioning did not work in our room. No effort was made to solve the problem until we had made repeated complaints to the reception staff and we were finally moved to another room for our last night. Two very hot nights we spent in the hotel were extremely uncomfortable. All this despite the fact that we had gone to a great deal of trouble to book a hotel with air conditioning!

"welcoming staff in general. food poor.breakfast .he fruit salad was tined . the coffee bad"

the coffee was very poor and that was very bad as coffee in Paris is very good. In fact it was the worse coffee in paris. the second night as we missed breakfast i had some coffee brought to my room, only one coffee arrived in my room although we were 2 persons in the room and then was charged for it. the decor of the hotel was good and welcoming behind the desk

"Nice comfortable, friendly hotel"

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Malte Opera, we found the room an adequate size for our short stay. The stay on duty both during the day and in the evening were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was very central for all attractions with the Pyramids Metro station only 5 minutes walk away. We would certainly use the hotel again we went back to Paris. I would also like to thank the staff at Hotel Direct for their assistance in finding us a good hotel.

The location was brilliant, you are really in the heart of paris and to get anywhere is easy. The staff were great. The only complaint we have is that the room was like an ashtray even though it was non-smoking and the bed was very small.

Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff. Quiet room overlooking courtyard, fairly small but very clean and well appointed. Good continental breakfast served in very pleasant surroundings. Would be happy to recommend to my friends. Good central position within walking distance of most attractions. Excellent french restaurant just along the road called Pierre au palais royal.

"Good place to stay, unles you are seeking for luxurious place"

This is a nice small hotel in a strategic point of Paris. The atmosphere is cozy. Breakfast is good (coffee is excellent ) and rooms are small and clean. Louvre is only 10 min walking, opera Garnier 5 min, metro station 3 min. Good relation price/quality in this hotel. We like it and we might come back again.

"2 rooms prepaid and 1 available. Tried to persuade male and female to share one 4 bed room"

Appalling behaviour from reception. We arrived late due to a late flight. Prepaid rooms should not be sold. We were kept waiting almost an hour before the receptionist finally found another room which stank of paint. Our request to find another hotel for us was not carried out. We were sidelined while the receptionsit searched the web for another guest and got our rooms at 11pm. What sort of service is this?

"VERY CONVENIENT AND SAFE LOCATION. "

THE HOTEL IS AN A SUPERB LOCATION A SHORT WALK TO THE LOUVRE AND MANY EXCELLENT RESTAURANTS. STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AND HELPED US WITH EVERYTHING WE REQUESTED. BREAKFAST EXCELLENT. SPOTLESSLY CLEAN. THE FRONT ROOMS ARE A BIT NOISY AS TRAFFIC SEEMS TO GO ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT. THE LOCATION IS A MAJOR POINT. WE WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK THERE.
