Clean, Smart and well Managed. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy check in and out. Delicious Breakfasts! Room was spacious, lush squishy duvet and pillows. Fab shower! Location is perfect for everything in London!

Hotel was of a good standard and it main advantage was its location to Oxford Street.

Lovely hotel with welcoming staff. The room was lovely and clean and comfortable. The only small issue was that the room wasn`t set up for 3 people. I would definitely book via Hotel Direct again book the same hotel.

We were shocked and disappointed to be told the hotel we had booked The Holborn Thistle, that we could not stay there and were being moved to another Thistle hotel about 20 mins away. It was a bit further away from the Theatre and the opposite direction to the restaurant we had booked. We had to cancel that restaurant that we were looking forward to going to foranother one nearer our new hotel but not as good. Despite all this no recompense was offered and we had to push for them to agree to pay for the cab fare which we had to send receipts and wait for them to pay us back, still waiting. They could have at least offered a bottle of wine or a free breakfast. Also should have let us know before we walked with heavy cases to their hotel.

The hotel staff were welcoming and our room and bed were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good but we had an evening meal which was disappointing. It wasn`t busy when we arrived but our food took a long time to be served and wasn`t hot (the plates were cold which didn`t help). The white wine wasn`t chilled, it was room temperature. The waitress seemed out of her depth even though the restaurant was very quiet. It is a shame that a 4* hotel doesn`t have a 4* restaurant.

Gas leak in the hotel resulted in 2 mornings without breakfast and 2 days with no hot water so had to wash with cold. We have now been promised by the Hotel manager that we will receive compensation of 50% off 2 of our 4 day stay and I think this should be a bare minimum offered after the disruption . Without this issue I would say we would be more than happy to return for another stay in the future. Hotel is very clean and superbly situated for the shows we had booked also central to many other attractions .

We were moved to thistle Bloomsbury as there was no hot water at Holburn. The hotel room had no heating , I complained and was given a heater. The shower never got warm, I had to have a cold shower on the Sunday morning and the hotel room wa dirty there was a huge clump of hair in the floor and the room was shabby.

Had everything we needed for a weekend away and within easy walking distance of theatre`s and a wide variety of eating and drinking experiences.

The hotel was very clean and provided excellent breakfast. Staff friendly and polite and location was excellent to walk around London in all directions. We did not need to use the tube at all.

Great location short walk to Covent Gardens and central London nice clean lovely breakfast and very nice staff will stay there again.

Good buffet breakfast worth doing, lovely old building, close to Covent Garden etc. we upgraded to a junior suite and whilst it was lovely and big, the bathroom in particular was looking a bit tired. Staff were very friendly and helpful though

We were very pleased indeed with the standard and quality of this hotel. The staff were excellent, helpful and polite. Our rooms were not quite ready when we arrived to check in so we were offered complimentary drinks in the bar. Our rooms were tidy, clean with comfortable beds and most importantly, quiet. The bathroom was clean, modern with a great shower and lovely hot water. We can highly recommend this hotel.

Our second time at the hotel and the stay was very good. All staff are delightful. As it is an older hotel the walk to room was quite long and the street roadworks do not help with access but hopefully the construction will be completed soon. London must be the roadworks capital of the world !!. Thanks to HotelDirect and the hotel for rescheduling the date due to my situation

The Thistle Holborn was ideal place to stay for show, 10 minutes walk and we were at the theatre

Stayed at this hotel quite a few times - if this had been my first time I would not return. In the process of writing to the Hotel Manager

Random alarm went off in room at 3am, resulting in changing rooms in middle of the night, Not enough seats In restaurant at breakfast time, complete free for all.

One issue could not access room until 4.15 pm which was inconvenient as it make us late for a restaurant reservation meal prior to the show. We were offered an upgraded room but at an additional cost, which we thought was out of order.

Air con unit broke in room had to move to another room at 12.30am. Moved into a new room with a lot of unwanted noise in the corridor and from adjoining rooms.

Clean and comfortable, lovely big room and the staff very helpful. Would definitely choose this hotel again. In a great location to visit the sights.

We were greeted at the reception by a lovely young man. He upgraded our room and had Prosecco and chocolates waiting for us- we were celebrating 30 years together? The hotel was only a ten minute walk to the Savoy theatre, so was ideal location. The breakfast in the morning we had a full English and was the perfect start to our day.

Wonderful Hotel, modern but still retaining some of the original charm of the building. Staff friendly and helpful and room very comfortable. Big bed, clean and comfy. Bathroom spacious with bath and shower and everything one could need. We had a two night break and found the Thistle Holburn to be a relaxing oasis away from the fast moving city. Would definitely stay again.

A little tired at the edges but mostly a fantastic place to stay. A short walk to the west end. Claudia on check in was just fantastic and knows what good customer service is about.

All good our second visit to this hotel very good breakfast and all employees extremely helpful and friendly will certainly choose this hotel when we next visit London

Second time in this hotel and would again recommend this to friends and family and would stay there again as a nice walk to the theatre and convent gardens well worth it
