"Very close to EXETER CENTRAL Stn. Homely feel, Rooms slightly antique in equipment terms. "

And the hot water takes a long time to appear in either sink or shower.Pricey for what it delivers. Couldn`t stay for Breakfast as my train left at 06.20.

Room was really nice and the hotel location was perfectly placed in the centre of Exeter. Facilities were nice and the free wi-fi worked really well.

"Excellent hotel"

We visited Exeter for a long weekend and chose the Rougemont for its close proximity to the city centre, we upgraded to a `deluxe` room and found this and the hotel overall, very clean and comfortable and the staff, friendly and helpful. The Rougemont is ideally placed within walking distance of the city centre`s shops, bars and restaurants. We will definitely stay here again.

"I wish the hotel as with many others got rid of baths and had new and large showers , more practical"

I was disappointed to note how much you charge at Hotel direct as booking fee on top of the hotel rate , will book direct next time thanks . I thought the hotel paid commission to you !

"Hotel needs management attention, could be great "

When checking in I found the reception very off hand. we had booked and paid for two rooms. was told we only have one room booked for you. No apology, showed the booking forms, was told just as well you have these to prove your booking. very unprofessional , needed to take my copies, asked them to take a photo copy, told no photocopier here, This is supposed to be a four stay, it may have large reception areas which look very grand, shame the staff and the service offered by them is not 4 star.we waited over one hour for 4 sandwiches. no apology,as we were the only guests it seemed hard to see how it took so long.Rooms were not very smart. my pillow had hairs over it both sides, lifted the pillow up and there was a nice cluster of hair. very off putting.The young manager told us they were revamping the rooms and working towards a five star. Lets hope they train the staff for better customer service. at the moment it is a very disappointing 4 star.

" On arrival the room had not been booked. It was sorted out however."

Asked several times over three days for the light bulb in the bathroom to be changed as flashing but it never happened (asked several different people.On checking out, being asked for the money for the room again, even though it had been pointed out on arrival that it had been paid in full (a copy of our confirmation email had been taken on arrival).Otherwise, generally good.
